SENDIASS Southend are the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service for families in Southend-on-Sea. The SENDIASS Service are trained by IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) through the National IASS network. Each of our team members complete 90 hours of accredited legal training, so that we can give you information based on legislation rather than local policy.
We provide unbiased information and advice about the local authority’s policies and procedures and about the policy and practice in local schools and other settings.
By being impartial we aim to help parents, children and young people to access clear, accurate and relevant information that will help them take part in decisions about their lives. To read more please open the document linked below titled What do we mean by 'Impartial Information, Advice and Support'.
We aim to empower you to feel confident to say the things that you want to say and feel listened to. We are not an advocacy service and therefore do not speak on your behalf. As an impartial service, we do not favor either side or have influence over the outcome of any meetings.
